Children with Developmental Delays & Disabilities - Parramatta Speech, Language and Literacy Solutions
Children with developmental delays and disabilities, such as Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Fragile X Syndrome, hearing impairment and vision impairment, may experience any of the communication and feeding difficulties observed in typically developing children.
However, children in this group may also have delays in other areas of their development (e.g. gross motor, fine motor, cognition) that can have a significant impact upon their communication and feeding development. As such, the ‘gap’ between the skills and experiences of these children and their ‘typically developing’ peers can be extensive. For this reason, children with developmental delays and disabilities require the services of a Speech Pathologist who has specialised experience and knowledge in the field of disability.
Larissa at Parramatta Speech, Language & Literacy Solutions has been working in the disability field for almost 9 years and has the skills, knowledge, experience, passion and expertise to achieve positive outcomes for children with developmental delays / disabilities and their families.
Parramatta Speech, Language & Literacy Solutions is a registered provider of Speech Pathology services under the ‘Helping Children with Autism’ funding and the ‘Better Start for Children with Disability’ funding.
